The Bloodborne Pathogens Control and Training Plan is a 70-page manual that includes the information, instructions, policies, procedures, forms, transparencies, and other training materials you will need to comply with Federal Law. Properly implemented, the plan will also give you peace of mind, knowing that you have taken adequate steps to protect your children and staff members from HIB/HIV(AIDS) or any other Bloodborne pathogen.
Also available with the plan is the Smith-Kline Beecham Pharmaceuticals film, “Bloodborne Pathogens,” which details OSHA’s Bloodborne pathogens standard (1910.1030) and the training specifically mandated for educators. This ten-minute film includes information on the exposure control plan, work practice controls, and universal precautions. (available on VHS or DVD)
The manual also includes an (ECP) exposure control plan. The ECP will bring a Christian school into compliance with the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard in an effort to minimize and to prevent the exposure of employees to disease-causing microorganisms transmitted through human blood. Training of all employees who are exposed to blood and other potentially infectious materials as a part of their job duties is required annually.
